Germany-based PVS Plastics Technology Corporation, a plastics company that specializes in manufacturing electric motor and fan components for the automotive and commercial HVAC industries, plans to establish its second U.S. facility in Johnson City, Tennessee. The $6.9 million project is expected to create 26 jobs.

The 54,000-square-foot manufacturing center, located on Wesinpar Drive, will bring the company closer to one of its long-time customers, ebm-papst, and allow the it to manufacture and supply injection molding plastics for industries needing high-tech solutions.

“We are thrilled to be setting up shop so close to ebm-papst, one of our long-time customers, in order to support its expansion in the U.S. market for energy-efficient ventilation technology,” Rich Tursic, CEO, PVS Plastics Technology Corporation said.

PVS is headquartered in Niedernhall in the south of Germany with locations in China, Hungary and the U.S. The company manufactures around 100 million plastic parts per year, including some 29 million stators and stator segments and 24 million fan wheels. “With nearly 21,000 Tennesseans employed by German companies, Germany is one of Tennessee’s top foreign direct investment partners. We are excited that PVS has chosen to locate its second U.S. facility right here in Northeast Tennessee and look forward to seeing this project come to fruition,” TNECD Commissioner Stuart McWhorter noted.
