Howmet Aerospace Expands Morristown, Tennessee, Operations

07/24/2024
Howmet Aerospace Inc., a global provider of advanced engineered solutions, plans to expand its production operations in Morristown, Tennessee. The approximately $27.9 million project is expected to create 50 jobs.

“Our partners in Morristown and the broader East Tennessee community have played an integral role in the success of Howmet Aerospace’s Morristown operations. We’re so very proud of these longstanding relationships that have enabled us to grow and prosper over the past several decades. Howmet Aerospace is grateful for the support of our state, local and regional partners who have been consistent and longstanding advocates for each investment we’ve made in this community,” Merrick Murphy, president of engine products, Howmet Aerospace said.

Howmet Aerospace Inc. manufactures components for jet engines, fasteners, titanium structures for aerospace applications, and forged aluminum wheels for heavy trucks. The company has locations in 13 countries and 15 U.S. states.

“East Tennessee has a rich background in the aerospace and defense industry, making Morristown the ideal location to support another expansion for Howmet Aerospace. This company employs 900 people regionally, and it’s not lost on us that these new jobs and this investment could have gone to any one of the company’s global locations. I’m grateful to Howmet Aerospace leadership for recognizing our outstanding business climate, and I wish them the best of luck moving forward,” TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter noted.

“TVA and Morristown Utilities congratulates Howmet Aerospace on its decision to expand operations in Hamblen County. We are proud to partner with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce to support companies like Howmet Aerospace, that are committed to continued growth in the region and look forward to its future business success,” John Bradley, TVA senior vice president of economic development added.
