Is it time to invest in United States solar manufacturing?

Phil Schneider, Principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP, believes more federal tax credits will be needed to encourage solar manufacturing - especially for foreign companies to build their plants here. Mike Reno, a Partner at Deloitte Tax LLP, agrees that tax incentives are a critical part of the equation, but supply chain considerations will also come into play. And Rebecca Ranich, Director at Deloitte Consulting LLP, says state incentives will also play a part. She notes that legislative initiatives currently taking shape in state and federal governments are encouraging signs that policymakers understand the strategic value of renewable generation for U.S. energy independence.
