Coca-Cola Company Plans Webster, New York, Fairlife Production Plant
05/11/2023
The 745,000 square-foot facility will be built on Tebor Road in the Town of Webster. Operations are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
“Consumer demand for fairlife products is at an all-time high, and a new production facility will allow us to significantly increase capacity and deliver fairlife to even more households across the country,” fairlife Chief Executive Officer Tim Doelman said. “As we continue to grow in the Northeast, Webster’s proximity and access to best-in-class dairy farmers make it an excellent location to support our next phase of growth in the region and beyond. We are sincerely grateful for the collaboration from Governor Hochul and her administration throughout this process.”
Empire State Development is providing up to $21 million in assistance for the project through the performance-based Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program in exchange for the job creation commitments. Additionally, the Monroe County IDA is expected to apply to ESD for a $20 million Capital Grant so that they can work to provide adequate power and other related infrastructure costs to service the site.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome fairlife to Monroe County,” noted Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight noted. “The company’s plans to put down roots in this upstate community, and its potential to create up to 250 new jobs, is well suited because New York has the unmatched farm and dairy infrastructure to support this project and is a clear leader in dairy production and research and development as well.”
A wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola fairlife, LLC is a Chicago-based dairy company that creates great-tasting, nutrition-rich and value-added products to nourish consumers. Fairlife’s portfolio of lactose-free, real dairy products includes: fairlife® ultra-filtered milk; Core Power® High Protein Shakes, a sports nutrition drink to support post-workout recovery; fairlife® nutrition plan™, a nutrition shake to support the journey to better health; and fairlife® Light Ice Cream.
“fairlife's decision to locate its new plant in New York State is tremendous news for our state and for our dairy industry, which is New York’s largest agricultural economic driver,” added State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball. “Today’s announcement highlights the world-class excellence of our dairy community whose farmers will be supplying milk to this state-of-the-art processing facility. I thank Governor Hochul and all of the partners involved in this exciting project and look forward to the positive long-term impact this will have on our dairies statewide.”
