01/08/2019
“Agribusiness remains the top industry here in the No. 1 state for business due in part to innovative companies like Forquímica,” said Governor Nathan Deal. “Forquímica’s leadership recognizes the benefits of operating in our top-ranked business economic environment and we appreciate this investment. Our network of resources, deep talent pool and strategic location in the Southeastern market will provide Forquímica with a solid foundation for continued growth and success.”
Founded in 1985, Forquímica has been in the agribusiness industry for more than 30 years. Using its own research, Forquímica develops sustainable agricultural projects with the support of a highly qualified field team. New jobs will include positions in general services, management, marketing and sales.
“After four years working alongside farmers in South Georgia, Forquímica is very excited to join and to be part of the Moultrie community as we start our crop nutrition manufacturing plant,” said Reginaldo Zandonade, Manager of Forquímica’s Moultrie facility. “We are looking forward to growing together for many years to come.”
“Georgia’s strategic location to a majority of the U.S. market makes our state a top choice for agriculture companies,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Georgia offers the right resources, including a diverse cluster of companies and an interconnected logistics framework, necessary to help Forquímica better reach its growing market in the region. Congratulations to our economic development partners in Colquitt County.”
“We are grateful that Forquímica chose Colquitt County to invest their financial resources and talent,” said Greg Icard, Vice Pesident of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Development Authority. “This was a fast-moving project that recently considered Colquitt County in their selection process and it took all partners working together to make this a success. Our efforts in recruiting industry are producing positive results which translate into opportunities for our citizens.”
