Germany-Based Nutritional Supplement Manufacturer Investing $10 Million+ for Wisconsin Expansion

10/22/2009
Schwabe North America, a subsidiary of Germany-headquartered pharmaceutical company Dr. Willmar Schwabe GmbH & Co. KG, will invest more than US$10 million to expand its facilities in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The company says in a statement that it will create more than 100 jobs at the Green Bay facility as it upgrades and remodels its laboratories and completes a 100,000-square-foot distribution center for the company's brands, which include Nature's Way and Enzymatic Therapy nutritional supplements. As part of the project, the company will consolidate the operations of a production facility in Utah to Green Bay. "I am exceptionally proud of all our associates and their great efforts over the years, which served to create a significant growth platform for our current and many future employees," says Randy J. Rose, Schwabe North America's president and CEO. "Our business is focused on improving lives, and with the state of Wisconsin and the city of Green Bay, we will expand our operations to better serve consumers and patients throughout North America." The state is providing an incentive package that includes a $500,000 forgivable loan and $400,000 in tax credits, contingent on job creation and the retention of more than 280 existing jobs at the Wisconsin facility.
