03/24/2009
The Water Company, a high-tech water purification firm, will expand its operations in Pueblo, Colorado, according to the Colorado governor's office. The company plans to add more than 100 new jobs to its existing staff of 30, for a projected total of 140 employees by 2012. KOAA-TV reports on its website that Richard Hoover, The Water Company's president and CEO, plans to hire laborers, scientists, and engineers with salaries ranging between $50,000 and $90,000 per year. The company's technology removes impurities like lead, mercury, and other metals from water; the company has been in existence for six years but is taking its technology to commercial markets for the first time. KOAA also reports that the company has been offered incentives worth approximately $3 million, including a new building into which the company will move its offices and laboratories.
