CBN Secure Technologies in Danville, Virginia, Plans $8.2 Million Facility Expansion
04/16/2013
The firm’s 17,000 square-foot expansion in Cyber Park is expected to be complete in May. Ian Shaw, President of CBN Secure Technologies, Inc., said, "Our planned expansion is right on schedule. We have been very pleased with the growth we have realized in the facility in just four years, and with the commitment to excellence and professionalism shown by our Danville staff."
In 2009, Canadian-based CBN Secure Technologies, Inc. launched its United States presence in Virginia with plans to use the Danville operation to serve other customers in the U.S. and other countries. Governor Bob McDonnell said, "This expansion is a testament to the quality of Virginia's workforce and the Commonwealth's commitment to businesses expanding to create new jobs for our citizens."
As an incentive, last November, the Danville-Pittsylvania Regional Industrial Facility Authority Board approved a $150,000 grant to help fund the expansion and increase employment. The agreement with CBN Secure Technologies, Inc. and RIFA, which includes members of the Danville City Council and Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, involves an additional 25 full-time jobs and $8.2 million in investment by September 2015. The grant money is being used for construction and equipment purchases.
The CBN Secure Technologies Inc. parent company, Canadian Bank Note Company Ltd., specializes in designing, developing, and integrating technologies and solutions to offer high security identification documents, and systems for the secure issuance and inspection of those documents, in North America and around the world.
