Norway-Based Nammo AS Plans Logistics Center Near Sedalia, Missouri
06/23/2017
Capstone Precision Group will invest almost $1 million to launch the new 30,000 square foot facility, which should be fully operational by December. Operating from just outside Sedalia city limits in Pettis County, where Capstone will be leasing 30,000 sq. ft. of space, products will be sent throughout the U.S. to dealers and wholesalers. This facility will be the United States logistics center for Capstone Precision Group’s four commercial ammunition brands, Lapua, Berger, VihtaVuori, and SK.
Additionally, ammunition, components, and smokeless powder will be imported from Finland and Germany and distributed in the U.S. and also exported, while projectiles from the company’s Mesa, Arizona, location will be shipped to Missouri for packaging and distribution.
Raimo Helasmäki, Nammo’s Executive Vice President of Commercial Ammunition, said, “Nammo is excited about the creation of the Capstone Precision Group logistic center in Missouri. This move to Missouri is a well thought through strategy where all the benefits for all counterparts are optimized. The local authorities have been very easy to work with to help develop this project. We look forward to years of growth through this facility”
“Capstone Precision Group’s decision to grow its business in Missouri is great news for families in rural Pettis County. This new distribution center means new quality jobs for hardworking Missourians,” said Governor Eric Greitens. “We’re fighting to grow jobs every day, and we’re grateful to Capstone Precision Group for recognizing that Missouri is open for business and our people are ready to work.”
“Capstone Precision Group is a phenomenal company and we are thrilled to welcome them to Missouri,” said CEO of Missouri Partnership Steve Johnson. “This was a project that required coordination at all levels, and the joint efforts of Pettis-County, Sedalia-Pettis County EDC, the State and our team was excellent. It is great to see yet another company take advantage of Missouri’s unique distribution and logistics strengths.”
