Kroger And Five Additional Firms Plan Capital Investments Worth $74 Million In Cincinnati, Ohio, Region

REDI Cincinnati, Southwest Ohio’s leading economic development initiative, reported six capital investment projects have the potential to create or retain a total of 2,611 jobs in the Greater Cincinnati region, and generate over $74 million in capital investments.

The announcement follows the Ohio Tax Credit Authority’s approval of economic development assistance proposals for The Kroger Co., Milacron, CTL Aerospace, Kingsgate Transportation Services Inc., Peter Cremer North America, and Airtech, after being presented to the TCA Board by JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati.

“The number of jobs being added to the Greater Cincinnati economy are a testament to the momentum we’ve seen all year”, said Johnna Reeder, President/CEO, REDI Cincinnati. “Companies are expanding their operations and investing in capital which is an indicator that they are finding resources they need and they feel optimistic about their future success in our region.”

Investment projects include; The Kroger Co., headquartered in Downtown Cincinnati and one of the largest grocery retailers in the world, which plans a $46 million investment expected to create 649 jobs. Kroger Co. plans to create a customer service center of excellence to house Pharmacy, HR, Customer Connect, C-Store, and Digital customer service, along with a new Distribution Center to serve fresh produce to the Midwest.

Milacron, a privately held company with a range of plastics processing equipment, technologies and services, plans an $11 million investment that is expected to create 294 jobs. Milacron has its headquarters and 3 manufacturing plants in Southwest Ohio. The company is evaluating where to consolidate and grow its headquartersand manufacturing facility within Southwest Ohio or Indiana.

CTL Aerospace, a family-owned company that specializes in the manufacturing of fiber reinforced polymer coatings, plans a $6.3 million investment that is expected to create 46 jobs.

Kingsgate Transportation Services, Inc., a leader in third-party transportation services for many national brands, plans a $25,000 investment that is expected to create 30 jobs. The company provides freight services by any transportation mode and brings logistics professionals a flexible service provider to get shipments anywhere globally. Kingsgate Transportation is growing rapidly due to a new business strategy, and with continued expected growth, has outgrown its existing space and needs to move into a new facility.

Peter Cremer North America, a firm that offers a wide range of oleochemicals , plans a $ 9 million investment and expects to create 122 jobs. The company is looking to expand their North American presence due to increased client demand and expansion of their current offerings. To accommodate this growth, they are looking to purchase more land and construct a new building.

Airtech plans to invest $1.92 million and create 40 jobs in the region. The company will expand operations in Cincinnati to accommodate its growing aircraft maintenance business and secure a new corporate headquarter facility that is growing.
