root9B Opens Operations-Research-Training Hub In Honolulu, Hawaii

According to the firm its new facility, located in downtown Honolulu, will be utilized to train and equip several Department of Defense cyber elements, perform advanced research into malicious software and serve as a regional operations nexus for penetration assessments, compromise assessments and proactive adversary 'hunt' services for security-conscious clientele.
Mike Morris, Chief Technology Officer of root9B, stated, "Our expansion and growth to the Pacific Rim highlights a growing requirement for properly trained and equipped cybersecurity professionals and the role that root9B has assumed in bridging that gap."
The facility will provide root9B with a forward reach capability to serve the United States and its international counterparts with training, vulnerability assessments and research and development, company officials said. Current projects at the Hawaii facility focus on reverse engineering advanced malware, development of secure communications platforms and pioneering techniques in adversary 'hunt' missions, which use tailored tools and analysis to identify potential advanced persistent threats on sensitive networks.
