Orbis Education Expands Carmel, Indiana, Headquarters

07/20/2018
Orbis Education, a leader in the development, marketing and management of healthcare education solutions, plans to expand its corporate offices in Carmel, Indiana.

According to company officials, the company, which currently leases the entire fourth floor of One Penn Mark Plaza, will lease space on the building's eighth floor to accommodate a record number of new employees.

"Record growth and the addition of nearly 100 employees over the last year and a half necessitate more space," explained Steve Hodownes, CEO of Orbis. "We have also adopted a more centralized strategy and are creating space for employees who frequently travel and previously did not have permanent desks at the corporate office."

Orbis' said its strong performance has been fueled by the company's mission of partnering with universities to expand pre-licensure healthcare programs to help overcome the shortage of skilled healthcare providers in the U.S. The partnerships enable the delivery of high-quality, clinically intensive education programs that fast-track students into the nursing, occupational therapy and other healthcare professions.

Under the agreements, Orbis develops hybrid programs that feature interactive e-Learning platforms to educate students on healthcare fundamentals and theories. The company also funds, develops and equips state-of-the-art facilities that include labs that replicate the clinical setting where students turn the foundational knowledge they learn online into psychomotor skills, and establishes relationships with top healthcare facilities where students then perform in-hospital clinical rotations.

Orbis is on pace for another record year in 2018, company officials said. The company recently announced a new partnership with Averett University, expanded its partnership with Utica College into the South Florida market and is set to announce two more partnerships in the coming months pending board approvals.
