Great Northern Innovation Expands Polk County, Wisconsin, Manufacturing Plant
07/07/2015
The company, located in Milltown, manufactures rubber screen media and wear components that are used in mining and aggregate operations. The company will lease a new 22,000-square-foot building and purchase additional equipment for the production of the wear parts to meet the growing demand for its products. Construction of the new facility is expected to be complete in October.
“Great Northern Innovation is very excited to be putting down roots in Milltown, and we look forward to contributing to the local economy and job force as we grow together into the future,” said company President Gabe Feuerhelm.
As an incentive to support the project, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation authorized the company to receive up to $180,000 in state tax credits through 2018. The actual amount of credits the company will earn is contingent upon the number of jobs created during that time.
“WEDC is pleased to support Great Northern Innovation as this young company continues to grow and create new jobs in northwestern Wisconsin,” said Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of WEDC, the state’s lead economic development organization. “This is just another example of WEDC’s commitment to the region. Since 2013, our organization has provided northwestern Wisconsin companies with $1.1 million in awards expected to create or retain more than 1,600 jobs.”
