Ernst & Young: Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Indices

Ernst & Young finds that while the United States leads the globe for its investment in renewable energy, the European Union and India aren't far behind.

5/27/2010
Which countries score highest for their renewable energy use? Ernst & Young's Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Indices shows that the United States still leads the index with its focus on sustainable energy. The European Economic Recovery Plan and the European Union's green energy goals propelled it higher up the list. The Indian government announced a target goal of 10 percent renewable energy use by 2012. That move, along with tariffs for wind and solar power, pushed the country higher as well.

The report tracks and scores investment in renewable energy, all renewables, long-term on- or offshore solar PV, solar CSP, biomass, geothermal, and infrastructure projects. It also provides coverage of marine and offshore topics, and a summary of recent M&A and IPO activities.
