The Columbus-based company, unveiled a new 8 feet high,14 feet long, 4,000-horsepower high-speed diesel engine last year, designed to power locomotives, boats, mining trucks and offshore oil and gas platforms.
Cummins said it expects to start hiring new engineering and support workers this year and to fill the additional jobs by 2015.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation said Cummins is eligible to receive up to $250,000 in job development and training grants. In addition, the Indiana Department of Transportation will also assist in funding of infrastructure improvements and the firm requested city tax abatements.
