04/25/2026
Transformer manufacturer Virginia Transformer plans to expand its operations in Rincon, Georgia. The $40 million project is expected to create more than 400 jobs.

The investment at the company’s existing facility will include advanced manufacturing equipment, upgraded material handling systems, and an automated warehouse to increase production capacity by 50 percent.

“This is the latest in a continued series of expansion investments in facilities across North America,” said Prabhat Jain, CEO of Virginia Transformer. “We are focused on delivering premium-quality transformers with industry-leading timelines, and this investment will further strengthen our ability to serve customers.”

Virginia Transformer Corporation manufactures power transformers and electrical equipment used in energy generation, transmission, and distribution. The company designs and produces custom transformers for utility, industrial, and infrastructure applications.

“The growth of this facility is creating more high-quality jobs and opportunities for hardworking Georgians,” noted Governor Brian Kemp. “This expansion supports a critical industry that helps power our growing and reliable energy grid.”

“Today’s groundbreaking marks an important milestone for Effingham County and reinforces the strength of our manufacturing sector,” added Matt Saxon, Chairman of the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. “This investment reflects growing demand for energy infrastructure and confidence in our workforce and community.”
