LHP Engineering Solutions Expands Operations in Columbus, Indiana
05/21/2019
The Columbus-based company, which provides engineering services and technology integration for embedded controls, telematics, data analytics and model-based design for the automotive, aerospace and medical industries, will invest more than $1 million to grow its headquarters at 1888 Poshard Drive, making building and office improvements and significant hardware and software investments.
“We’re excited about LHP’s growth potential and the opportunity to participate in a technology revolution that is going on within the transportation industry," said Dave Glass, CEO of LHPES. "We are very fortunate to be headquartered in such a business-friendly environment as the state of Indiana and the city of Columbus. With all the investments being made in advanced manufacturing and automotive technologies, we have plenty of confidence that we can continue to grow right here, at home."
LHPES, which employs 190 associates at its Columbus location and 478 worldwide, is hiring for engineers in the electrical, mechanical, computer science, quality, functional safety and controls fields, as well as any related field in transportation software.
As an incentive, Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered LHP Engineering Solutions up to $1.6 million in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Columbus supports the project at request of the Greater Columbus Economic Development Corporation.
"Indiana continues to take center stage as a hub for innovation with global companies like LHPES developing new solutions to solve 21st century challenges right here in our state," said Governor Eric J. Holcomb. "In partnership with Ivy Tech and the Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs, LHPES is growing our workforce by providing hands-on training in the automotive industry to veterans. We applaud LHPES for its focus and dedication to offering life-changing opportunities for not only its employees, but also for our veterans.”
