10/19/2017
The new solar project, expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2018, will be located on approximately 100 acres on Davis Road in Ridge Spring, South Carolina. SolAmerica Energy develops, finances, constructs and operates commercial and utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects.
“SolAmerica is excited to launch our latest South Carolina project in Edgefield County, which will be our largest project in the state to date. South Carolina is emerging as a leading solar market, and SolAmerica is proud to be part of the solar industry’s growth in the state. We appreciate the efforts of Edgefield County and SCE&G toward the project, and look forward to successfully bringing the Edgefield project online in the coming months,” SolAmerica President George Mori said.
“South Carolina’s renewable energy sector continues to grow, and we’re excited about today’s announcement of SolAmerica’s new $13 million solar project. To see this new partnership continue to grow shows that the hard work of so many men and women will continue to benefit local communities and the state as a whole,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
“Investments like this one continue to grow South Carolina’s reputation as a top business destination for industries of all types. I’m proud to welcome SolAmerica’s new operation to Edgefield County and celebrate, not only the economic opportunities, but the environmental opportunities this project will generate,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
