South Korea-Based Hanjung America Plans Huntington, Indiana, Manufacturing Operations
03/02/2026
The company’s new manufacturing facility will be located on 133 acres at the Riverfork West Industrial Park. Production is scheduled to begin in June 2027.
“We are delighted to establish Hanjung America in Huntington and to become a member of the Indiana community, and we look forward to contributing to regional development,” said Kevin Kim, president of Hanjung America. “This new location allows us to better serve our local customers with our leading-edge technology ESS components.”
To support the project the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) committed an investment in Hanjung America of up to $4.5 million in the form of incentive-based tax credits, up to $400,000 in Hoosier Business Investment tax credits, and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the company’s capital investment and job creation projections. These incentives are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim state benefits once investments are made and jobs are created. Additionally, Huntington County offered additional incentives to support the project.
“Hanjung America’s decision to locate its first North American manufacturing facility in Indiana is a major win for the state and for Huntington County,” noted Governor Mike Braun. “The company’s new operation will strengthen Indiana’s growing leadership in creating the next generation of energy solutions while creating hundreds of high-skill, high-paying jobs for Hoosiers and setting the stage for continued supply chain growth throughout the state.”
Hanjung America Co., Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of South Korean automotive-components and energy-systems manufacturer Hanjung NCS.
