06/12/2019
The company is investing an additional $17.5 million in the facility in a series of upgrade projects. In 2013, Boise Cascade acquired Chester Wood Products, a softwood plywood facility. Boise Cascade has continued to upgrade its existing Chester County operations located at 1445 Lancaster Highway in Chester, in response to growing customer demand.
In 2015, the company invested $23.5 million in a series of improvements to the facility, resulting in more efficient production capabilities and dozens of additional jobs. In total, Boise Cascade now has more than 295 full-time employees at its Chester County location.
"South Carolina is strategically located to reach our East Coast and southern markets. With the state's strong manufacturing base, we've been fortunate to draw a skilled workforce from Chester and the surrounding communities, and we're always looking for talented people to join our team,” said Executive Vice President of Boise Cascade Company Mike Brown.
"Boise Cascade's latest expansion in South Carolina continues to prove that there is no better place to be doing business. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that this new $17.5 million investment will have in Chester County,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
"The fact that Boise Cascade has decided to expand its Chester County operations speaks to South Carolina's pro-business environment. I look forward to watching Boise Cascade thrive here for many years to come." -Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
"Boise Cascade's expansion announcement in Chester County is a testament to our thriving business climate! We will continue to work with our existing industrial partners to create the best possible environment for their continued success” Chester Development Association Chairman Tony Pope noted.
