Acme Packet's Expansion of Massachusetts-Based Headquarters to Create More Than 100 Jobs
06/17/2011
Acme Packet is a leader in session delivery network solutions which enable delivery of next-generation voice, data and unified communications services and applications across IP networks. Its American designed and manufactured products are sold through over 140 reseller partners worldwide to more than 1,350 customers in 105 countries.
The expansion news comes just weeks after Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's visited Acme Packet's headquarters to mark the company's growth and success in the state. At that event, the firm revealed 443 employees (part of a 679-person global workforce) are employed in Bedford.
Already the company has hired more than 70 new employees at its headquarters, and plans to add an additional 117 workers in the state by year-end 2011. All of Acme Packet's R&D activity, as well as the final test and assembly steps in its manufacturing processes, occur at that facility.
Acme Packet President and CEO Andy Ory noted that his firm is powering exciting advancements in communications technology. "By taking this additional space, we're well positioned to grow the company and to continue to attract and retain highly skilled employees-those who already live in Massachusetts and those who are coming from outside the state to join our company."
