Tosoh America Expands Facility in Grove City, Ohio
06/18/2019
The company will increase its current facility in Grove City by 30,000 square feet, using 20,000 square feet for distribution and 10,000 square feet for manufacturing. This additional space will help the company strengthen its new product production, distribution and quality assurance capabilities. The company will invest $4.5 million for building costs and $3.9 million for machinery and equipment.
“The Columbus Region is a key location for distribution and offers us a robust talent pool,” said Tosoh America Vice President & CFO Jim Shaffer. “Expanding in Grove City will help further our success as we increase our distribution capabilities and production capacity.”
Established in 1989, Tosoh America is the parent company to the rapidly expanding number of Tosoh Group companies within North America. The company’s facility in Grove City has been in production for 40 years and currently boasts a staff of 292 full-time employees.
“We are thrilled that Tosoh America, a long-standing community partner, is expanding in Grove City,” said Grove City Mayor Ike Stage. “The company’s 40 years of support and additional $8.4 million investment demonstrates their ongoing commitment to the Region.”
“The Columbus Region’s talent and location provides a strategic advantage for Tosoh to manufacture the highest-quality diagnostics products and get them to market quickly,” said JobsOhio Vice President and Head of Economic Development Dana Saucier. “Tosoh is a longtime partner in Grove City, and we are excited it chose to bring 40 new jobs at its headquarters campus.”
