Loparex LLC, a manufacturer of polycoated and silicone-coated papers and films, will invest $18.9 million to relocate its U.S. headquarters to Cary, North Carolina, and expand an existing manufacturing facility in Eden, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The combined projects are expected to create 128 new jobs: the Cary positions will pay an average annual wage of $93,347 plus benefits; those in Eden will pay an average annual wage of $52,323 plus benefits. The company is currently headquartered in Willowbrook, Illinois. Loparex products are used in the healthcare, automobile, alternative energy, and personal electronics industries. "Our customers demand innovation, global market capability, and high-value, cost-effective product solutions," says Mike Apperson, Loparex's CEO. "Our presence in North Carolina will further strengthen our ability to meet those demands, and we are excited to move into the Research Triangle area. We look forward to being part of the local community and thank the state for its help and support." The state has offered Loparex financial incentives that could total $2.35 million over nine years, contingent on job creation and retention.
