Total Quality Logistics Expands Union Township, Ohio Headquarters
07/25/2019
TQL is the second-largest freight brokerage company in North America, offering full truckload, less-than-truckload, and intermodal logistics services.
Expansion of TQL’s headquarters campus on Ivy Pointe Boulevard in Union Township includes the construction of a second building ranging in size from 120,000 to 130,000 square feet next door to the company’s existing 100,000 square foot building. TQL’s headquarters campus will hold over 2,000 employees when construction is complete.
According to company officials, the goal of the expansion is to accommodate nearly 600 new employees that the company anticipates hiring, primarily in sales and information technology roles, over the next five years.
“We continue to grow our market share with new and existing customers, and that’s a direct testament to our incredible team members who are focused on providing premium service to our customers and carriers day in and day out,” said TQL President Kerry Byrne.
“Logistics is an increasingly tech-driven industry, and we continue to make substantial investments in our proprietary technology solutions, such as TQL TRAX, to improve transparency, communication, and drive greater efficiencies in transportation. This headquarters expansion will cater to the needs of technology professionals so we can attract and retain the highest levels of technology talent,” added Byrne.
The company is still finalizing plans on the design of the building. TQL anticipates construction costs of the new building at $20 million, plus an additional investment to renovate its current site, company officials said.
“We are excited to partner with TQL as it invests in this new facility on its Union Township headquarters campus, where it will create nearly 600 exceptional sales and IT jobs,” said Dana Saucier, JobsOhio Vice President and Head of Economic Development. “TQL’s growing operations in Greater Cincinnati demonstrate how Ohio’s talent and business environment is changing the landscape for freight brokerage firms.”
“We’re proud to support TQL’s growth and the creation of nearly 600 high-quality jobs in the region,” said Kimm Lauterbach, REDI Cincinnati President & CEO. “The continued development of TQL’s technology solutions in logistics is a great example of how Greater Cincinnati is innovating the way products and materials are moved across the country.”
“The Clermont County Commissioners are extremely pleased that Total Quality Logistics selected Clermont County for this major expansion,” said David Painter, President of the Board of County Commissioners. “We are proud to see a locally based company continue to grow and prosper. Projects like this demonstrate that Clermont County provides a great environment for businesses. Total Quality Logistics joins a number of businesses that see our community as the right place to invest millions of dollars and create hundreds of jobs.”
“TQL has been a great partner of ours since 2005, and we look forward to continuing our relationship,” said Union Township Administrator Ken Geis.
