SpecChem To Open Manufacturing Facility In Dorchester County, South Carolina
07/30/2014
The company has completed the acquisition of a 65,000-square-foot facility located in Harleyville, South Carolina, and will begin moving in state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment with plans to be operational by fall 2014. The plant will produce SpecChem's complete line of cementitious products with full capacity for liquids by year's end.
Founded in 2006, SpecChem now operates six locations across the country including the South Carolina facility and operations in Las Vegas, Nevada, Farmersville, Texas, Edwardsville, Kansas, Kansas City, Kansas, and corporate headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.
"This is a part of SpecChem's overall strategic plan, which is to bring manufacturing closer to our distributor partners. This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is centrally located to serve the East Coast, from Miami to New York, in one shipping day. Our goal is to enhance distributor profitability by allowing them to lower their cost of inventory carry and increase their turns,” Greg Maday, Chairman/CEO of SpecChem LLC said.
"This gives our partners shorter lead times and much better freight options. We are delighted to open our first manufacturing plant in South Carolina and our fifth manufacturing plant in the United States in eight years,” added Mike Shull, President of SpecChem LLC.
"SpecChem is a company that relies on getting their product to their customers fast, and by locating in Dorchester County, they will be able to reach customers all along the Eastern seaboard. We welcome them to South Carolina and celebrate their decision to invest more than $5.5 million and add 50 new jobs in Harleyville,” Governor Nikki Haley said.
