Fast-Growing Coyote Logistics to Add 400 Jobs to Chicago's Economy
01/10/2012
Coyote is the fastest-growing logistics company in the United States. It uses technology and relationships to move massive amounts of freight across North America by linking shippers with available transportation capacity. Clients operate in diverse industries, such as food and beverage, forest products, metals, plastics, consumer products, and government services. One company goal is to help shippers and carriers in its network lower carbon emissions by getting the most out of every gallon of diesel they burn.
"Until we have a viable substitute for the internal combustion engine, fossil fuel-based transportation is a fact of life in the United States and necessary for economic growth," said Chris Pickett, Coyote's chief strategy officer. "Last year Coyote eliminated 5.5 million empty miles from our highways, which equates to 10,000 tons of carbon that did not enter the atmosphere." The company plans to double that achievement this year.
