03/08/2026
Chemical company PPG plans to expand its operations in Delaware, Ohio. The more than $280 million project is expected to create 100 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a new 100,000-square-foot facility, located at the company’s existing site, will produce a range of paints and coatings for automotive OEMs and automotive parts suppliers. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2028.

“As the automotive OEM industry continues to evolve, PPG’s expanded capabilities in Delaware, Ohio, will help us deliver the next generation of high-quality, sustainably advantaged coatings technologies,” said Alisha Bellezza, PPG senior vice president, automotive and packaging coatings. “This investment, which is included within PPG’s previously communicated capital spending targets, strengthens our ability to serve customers with improved efficiency, quality and responsiveness.”

To support the project the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved a 1.483 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit.

“PPG’s decision to expand its Delaware site speaks to the durability of our manufacturing base,” added Tom Stipkovich, director of project management at One Columbus. “Companies that have operated here for decades continue to reinvest because they see long-term value in our workforce, our logistics position and our ability to support advanced industrial growth. This project deepens an already strong foundation and creates more opportunity for families in the Columbus Region.”
