10/08/2020
Teknor Apex will install new machinery to expand its scope of products being produced in Brownsville. The company currently employs approximately 620 people in Tennessee and more than 2,300 people worldwide. For the U.S. market, Teknor Apex manufactures chemicals such as plasticizers and consumer products including garden hose.
“We are thankful for the ongoing support the City of Brownsville and the State of Tennessee have given us, not only for this project, but for many others through the years,” Rob Lincer, Tennessee General Manager at Teknor Apex said.
“It is important for Teknor Apex to support the communities in which we operate and with the addition of resources, we will not only be able to better support our customers, but it also allows us to open up more career opportunities in the community,” said Paul Burke, Senior Vice President, Global Operations at Teknor Apex.
“This investment from Teknor Apex is a testament to Tennessee’s strong rural workforce as our economy continues to recover. Tennessee remains a great place to do business, and I appreciate Teknor Apex for choosing Tennessee for its next expansion,” said Governor Bill Lee.
“We are pleased that Teknor Apex chose to expand its facility and create 20 new jobs in Brownsville. Supporting Tennessee’s at-risk and distressed counties is a major priority for our department, and we look forward to the growth and opportunities that this project will create for the residents of Haywood County,” said TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe.
