Eaton Expands Middlesex, North Carolina, Operations
11/24/2025
The investment will include an additional 40,000 square feet at the company’s existing aerospace components manufacturing facility.
“This expansion underscores our ongoing commitment to investing in the Middlesex facility and enhancing our ability to serve customers with greater efficiency and responsiveness,” said Traci Melville, President, Fluid and Electrical Distribution Division, Aerospace Group, Eaton. “By expanding our footprint and creating new jobs, we are well positioned for sustained growth and long-term success.”
To support the project a performance-based grant of $100,000 has been awarded from the One North Carolina Fund. The OneNC Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. All OneNC grants require matching participation from local governments and any award is contingent upon that condition being met.
“Eaton’s decision to grow in Middlesex is a strong vote of confidence in North Carolina’s business climate and rural workforce,” noted N.C. Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley. “By adding a distribution center and creating new jobs, they’re helping us to build a more resilient supply chain and a stronger economy.”
In addition to the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, other partners in the project include the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, Nash Community College, Nash County, Nash County Economic Development, Duke Energy, and the town of Middlesex.
“Nash County has been working with the company since the first day they informed us of plans to expand their local facility,” added Nash County Economic Development Director Andy Hagy. “As always, we take local expansions with as much excitement as we do new businesses moving to the county. I always believe it is a major complement to the county when a local business decides to expand and continue to invest in their existing facility and create more jobs for the county and region.”
Eaton provides energy-efficient products and services to help customers manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power more reliably, efficiently, safely, and sustainably. The company's portfolio includes electrical systems, aerospace components, and vehicle technologies for markets like commercial vehicles, data centers, and utilities.
