Triumph Group Relocates Operations Center To Edgerton, Kansas

Triumph Group, Inc., a company that designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs and overhauls a broad portfolio of aerostructures, aircraft components, accessories, subassemblies and systems, is relocating its operations from Grandview, Missouri, to a new purpose-built facility in Edgerton, Kansas. The move is to accommodate the company’s growth.

Triumph will occupy the new 156,000-sq.-ft. facility, located in the Logistics Park Kansas City, under a long-term lease agreement with NorthPoint Development. The relocation to this new facility, being built by Clayco Construction, is expected to begin in September, after Triumph receives its certificate of occupancy, and be complete by late June 2017. The Edgerton site was selected based on a number of factors, according to Rick Rosenjack, Executive Vice President of Triumph’s Precision Components business unit.

“The LPKC development was chosen due to strong support from the state of Kansas and the local community in Edgerton, close proximity to an established training facility, exceptional logistics, and readily available space for future expansion,” said Rosenjack. “The short distance from Grandview to Edgerton also allows us to keep most of our experienced employee base intact, which is critical to continuity of production for our valued customers.”

Triumph’s Small and Medium Parts Center of Excellence excels at machining and assembly of aircraft components made from aluminum and hard metal. Products include landing gear structure and assemblies, seat/cargo tracks, floor beams, thrust reverser beams, stringer end fittings, wing attach fittings, installation brackets, hinge arm assemblies and engine inlet assemblies. It currently employs approximately 180 people.

With the addition of the new facility at LPKC, Triumph will have three factories in Kansas: another Precision Components facility in Wichita (employing approximately 175 people) and a Product Support facility in Wellington (employing approximately 115 people).
