Finland-Based Vaisala Xweather Establishes Gaithersburg, Maryland, Operations

FInland-based weather data and intelligence company Vaisala Xweather has established operations in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The project is expected to create 20 jobs.

The company’s new 5,500-square-foot operations center is located at the Rio Lakefront.

“Today, roughly one third of our revenue comes from the US, and this new Maryland office is a natural next step as we continue to invest in science, meteorology, and AI in the nation’s capital,” Executive Vice President Samuli Hänninen said.

Vaisala Xweather provides forecasting, applications, and analytics for the energy, utilities, aviation, agriculture, banking, finance, and insurance industries, as well as automotive and transportation sectors.
