Emerson details strategies for reducing data center energy use in a recent white paper. By analyzing a number of energy-saving methods at data centers, Emerson developed a list of top 10 opportunities for reducing energy consumption.

Some of the 10 strategies include focusing on processor efficiency, power supplies, power management software, and blade servers.

Dubbed Energy Logic, the approach eliminates the primary concerns of power, cooling, and space that data centers face. The 10 strategies freed up to two-thirds of floor space, a third of UPS capacity, and 40 percent of precision cooling capacity.
