Money Transfer Firm Serving Spanish-Speaking Community Relocating HQ Within Indiana

12/18/2008
Intercambio Express Inc., an international provider of check cashing and money wiring services for Spanish-speaking communities, will invest $3 million to relocate its company headquarters and expand its operations in Elkhart, Indiana, according to the Indiana governor's office. At least 50 new jobs are expected over the next five years. The company, which specializes in wiring funds to Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, will relocate its current headquarters facility in Goshen to Elkhart. "As the need for bilingual customer service and international money transfer grows, we are proud to grow our company here in Elkhart County," says Anita Knudtson, Intercambio Express' vice president for finance. "Close collaboration with state and local governments and local businesses made this expansion project possible." The company has been offered up to $155,000 in performance-based tax credits and $22,000 in training grants from the state, contingent on job creation. The city will also provide property tax abatement.
