Stolar Research Corporation Began Construction On Its Military And Homeland Security Facility in Rio Rancho, New Mexico
12/19/2012
This facility will be the home for the firm’s military and homeland security division. “Rio Rancho is a great fit for Stolar,” said Stolar President Gerald 'Jerry' Stolarczyk. “We did look at other jurisdictions but determined New Mexico was the best fit for our company. We are very excited about this opportunity to be relocating to a unique, one-of-a kind city for our unique, one-of-a-kind company.”
“Leading technology innovators like Stolar are exactly the kinds of businesses that will help us build a strong economy for generations to come,” said Gov. Susana Martinez. “I’m proud that we are able to create new, high-paying jobs right here in New Mexico and I look forward to seeing more businesses like Stolar putting New Mexicans to work.”
As an incentive, Stolar Research has been approved for Jobs Training Incentive Program funds administered through the Economic Development Department. The company will also benefit from tax reform initiative proposed by Governor Martinez and passed by the legislature.
In addition, the Rio Rancho Economic Development Corporation helped influence Stolar’s decision to move to the city by providing resources and support. The City of Rio Rancho agreed to help with the infrastructure costs totaling approximately $440,000. The city will provide road, water, and wastewater line extensions to the new building.
“Making New Mexico competitive through legislative reforms keeps jobs in New Mexico and helps companies expand,” said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela.. “We are glad Stolar Research chose to stay here in the state and create jobs.” The company’s hub will remain in Raton, New Mexico and a sister company, Stolar Horizon, will be growing its staff as well.
