Mississippi Makes Way for Metals Manufacturer

RTI International Metals, Inc. will build a new manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Mississippi, that will produce titanium sponge for use in the aerospace industry, including domestic and international commercial and military aircraft. According to Mississippi state development officials, the company will invest $300 million in the plant, creating more than 250 news jobs upon the start of production in 2010. RTI officials plan to begin construction during the fourth quarter of 2007 and expect an annual production capacity of up to 20 million pounds of titanium sponge.
