AQT Solar Creating 1,000 Jobs in Richland County, South Carolina
01/10/2011
"This new facility will not only increase the production capacity for AQT in the years to come, but will help drive the clean tech industry in this great state and create thousands of sustainable, high value jobs," said Michael Bartholomeusz, AQT Solar CEO.
The company expects to begin production in 2012. The phased build-out will add 60 jobs this year and a targeted installation of 30-40 megawatts, expanding to 1,000 jobs and 1 gigawatt of annual capacity by the end of 2014.
The new facility will help meet a current 160-megawatt order backlog. AQT also has a manufacturing plant in Sunnyvale, South Carolina.
