Biotech Company Investing $45 Million to Locate in South Carolina

Bridge to Life Ltd., a development-stage biotechnology company specializing in human organ preservation, will invest $45 million to locate its global headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina, according to the South Carolina commerce officials. The company plans to create 70 new jobs with the project. "South Carolina offers our company an attractive business environment and a skilled work force necessary to meet our customer demand and future product development," says John Bruens, the company's chief commercial and business development officer. Bridge to Life plans to commercialize and market two FDA-approved products designed for use in the procurement, storage, and shipping of human donor organs for transplantation. No information was released regarding financial incentives offered to the company.
