Biomedical Test Equipment Manufacturer Expanding in Indiana

11/09/2009
Beckman Coulter, a manufacturer of biomedical test equipment and testing supplies, will make a multimillion-dollar investment to expand its facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana, according to the Indiana governor's office. The company expects to create up to 100 new jobs as it relocates its precision plastics injection molding operation to the Indianapolis facilities. "Our operation in Indianapolis has become a center of excellence for Beckman Coulter," says Scott Atkin, a company group vice president. "The area offers a favorable business environment and lower total cost of operations, plus a local work force with strong skills in both engineering and manufacturing." The state has offered Beckman Coulter up to $830,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $450,000 in training grants, contingent on job creation; the city will also support property tax abatement.
