Arizona Targets Fulfillment Center

Construction is underway on a fulfillment center for Target Corporation, one of the nation's largest discount retailers, in Tucson, Arizona. The 975,000-square-foot facility, the company's second in the nation, will process, house, and ship online orders from the retailer's Target.com website. News sources report that while exact employment figures have not been announced, Jim Theusch, the company's senior corporate real estate manager, expects the facility to create hundreds of new positions. He also cited the relationship built with local economic development officials as important to the specific site choice.
