Tacombi Establishes Brooklyn, New York, Food Manufacturing Plant
02/06/2023
The 30,000-square-foot location will allow the company to expand operations and increase production capacity. Employees will support various aspects of operations and production, and include machine operators, supervisors, mechanics, quality inspectors, and back-office staff.
"The opening of our new tortilleria in Brooklyn marks an important milestone in the expansion of Tacombi and Vista Hermosa,” said Tacombi Founder and CEO Dario Wolos. “The tax incentives provided by Empire State Development played an impactful role in our decision to relocate our facility from New Jersey to New York and we're excited to join such a vibrant and diverse community in Sunset Park."
The investment is being supported by up to $1 million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits from Empire State Development.
"The opening of Tacombi's new food manufacturing facility in Sunset Park is a testament to the diverse menu of business support that New York State offers, and we're proud to provide the ingredients that are crucial for businesses to meet their goals,” noted Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight noted. “This expansion adds jobs, helps diversify the New York City economy and continues to solidify the region's reputation as a place where businesses can start, operate, and grow."
Launched as a taco stand on the beach in Mexico in 2006, Tacombi opened its first U.S. location in New York City's Nolita neighborhood in 2010. Tacombi now operates 11 taquerias across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
