Schwan’s Company Expands Production at Florence, Kentucky, Pizza Plant
06/28/2018
The pizza facility in Florence is owned and operated by SFC Global Supply Chain, Inc., a Schwan’s subsidiary. The plant is a 380,000 square-foot facility that produces Freschetta, Red Baron and Schwan’s brands, as well as pizzas for schools and partner companies.
The company said it is now hiring approximately 50 positions to meet an increase in demand. Schwan’s is hiring first- and second-shift line attendants and machine operators to make pizzas for brands such as Red Baron and Freschetta products.
“We’re extremely excited to be in a position to grow our team in Florence and meet the increasing demand for our foods,” said Larry Earle, Schwan’s Senior Director of Manufacturing for the facility. “We look forward to meeting people who are interested in joining our team.”
Last year, the company announced a $34 million investment to upgrade equipment at the facility. A major focus of the project was updating the facility’s pizza crust bakery. The effort is helping to decrease waste, increase production and add to the plant’s crust-making capabilities.
