“I appreciate the support and warm welcome we’ve received from the Detroit Regional Partnership,” said John Barkhouse, Cabinetworks CEO. “Our entire team is excited about our future in Michigan and we’re looking forward to establishing roots in Livonia. We’re energized and ready to grow here.”
The project is being supported by a $600,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. The Detroit Regional Partnership has also offered marketing assistance and talent recruitment in support of the project.
“The decision by Cabinetworks to expand in Michigan underscores the strength of our business climate and talented workforce,” noted Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Senior Vice President of Regional Prosperity Matt McCauley. “This project is a win for Southeast Michigan and for the entire state. We are grateful to Governor Whitmer, legislators from both parties, and local officials for their continued support for our programs that help make announcements like today’s possible. We appreciate the work of our local partners in supporting our efforts to create high-skill jobs for our residents, and will continue working to earn investments, revitalize communities, and support our people as we encourage businesses of all sizes to make it in Michigan.”
Cabinetworks Group is a privately held cabinet designer and manufacturer. With 19 manufacturing facilities in the U.S., the company produces leading brands including KraftMaid®, Medallion® and Merillat®.
“The Detroit Regional Partnership (DRP) was happy to assist Cabinetworks in establishing its expanded headquarters in the Detroit Region,” added Maureen Donohue Krauss, President & CEO at DRP. “Cabinetworks is the second largest cabinetry manufacturer in the United States – its expansion in the Detroit Region speaks volumes to the sophisticated and highly skilled workforce we have here.”
