New Tech Plastics Plans Piqua, Ohio, Operations

The investment will include the renovation of a 53,000-square-foot facility, located at 4317 U.S. 36., and the addition of new production lines for flexible plastic film.
"With the support from JobsOhio, we look forward to expanding our long-standing business to increase production capacity and enter new product lines,” said New Tech Plastics CEO Shawn Turner. “Each of these objectives will yield new jobs north of Dayton."
To support the project New Tech Plastics was approved for a $250,000 JobsOhio Revitalization Grant. The JobsOhio Revitalization Program funds projects that retain and create jobs, address environmental risks, and would otherwise have funding gaps. The program’s primary focus is on projects where the cost of redevelopment and remediation is more than the value of the building or land, and a site cannot be competitively developed in the current marketplace.
“Alongside our partners at JobsOhio, we welcome New Tech Plastics’ decision to expand operations in Ohio,” noted Dayton Development Coalition Executive Vice President of Regional Development Julie Sullivan. “This expansion emphasizes the strength of the Dayton Region workforce and the continued momentum we’re seeing across the region as companies invest in long-term growth.”
New Tech Plastics manufactures thin-gauge industrial packaging products, including flexible films and bags, serving industrial and commercial markets with an emphasis on recycled-content materials.
“The City of Piqua is pleased to support New Tech Plastics in its expansion and the positive impact it will bring to our community,” added Chris Schmiesing, the City of Piqua’s Economic Development Director. “This project will not only breathe new life into an existing industrial facility but also create new jobs and foster continued growth within the City of Piqua.”
