Berkley Southeast Insurance Group To Locate Corporate Headquarters in Metro Atlanta, Georgia

Berkley Southeast Insurance Group, a Berkley Company, plans to locate its corporate headquarters and Georgia Branch underwriting office in Metro Atlanta, Georgia, at 1745 N. Brown Rd., Suite 400. The company anticipates creating 55 new jobs in Gwinnett County by 2014.

Berkley Southeast Insurance Group was launched in January 2013 to provide standard commercial lines insurance services and expertise to a wide range of businesses in six Southeastern states: Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. The company primarily serves businesses in the construction, light manufacturing, hospitality, real estate, mercantile, wholesale, and business services industries.

“Gwinnett provides an ideal, strategic location for our headquarter operations, allowing us to focus on doing business across the Southeast, in addition to supporting other branch offices in the region,” stated Dennis L. Barger, President of Berkley Southeast Insurance Group. “We are excited to have found a permanent home in metro Atlanta and one that will enable us to serve our local communities efficiently and effectively.”

“Berkley Southeast Insurance Group’s location in Gwinnett County is a great example of Georgia’s momentum in job recruitment, which is setting the pace in the Southeast,” said Chris Cummiskey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “This new location will create 55 high-quality jobs in the state, while also allowing the company to better offer its services to clients and customers in this region.”

W. R. Berkley establishes new companies when opportunities and the right expertise are found. In 2013, three new operating units were formed, including Berkley Southeast Insurance Group, bringing the current total to 49 operating companies. Six additional operating units have offices located in the greater metro Atlanta area.
