Crosspoint Solutions Invests Nearly $1-Million On Indianapolis, Indiana, Manufacturing Plant
09/06/2012
Crosspoint Solutions produces, sells and services ClimaCab, a battery-powered auxiliary power unit used in Class 8 semi-truck sleeper cabs. ClimaCab is a clean-tech product and provides up to 10 hours of temperature control for sleeper cabs without the need to idle the truck engine, providing power for heat and air conditioning.
The firm plans to invest $935,000 to lease, renovate and equip a 26,145 square-foot facility manufacturing facility located at 5511 W. 79th St. in Indianapolis. Crosspoint Solutions has already begun hiring additional manufacturing, sales and customer support associates.
"We are pleased to establish operations in Indianapolis," said Henry Janzen, chief executive officer of Crosspoint Solutions. "Our business will benefit greatly from the hiring of experienced, hardworking Hoosiers and the city's central location is extremely efficient for distributing our products throughout North America."
"The Hoosier State continues to cultivate a business structure that spurs job creation. Its pro-business climate allows Indiana's manufacturing industry to remain robust and is strengthened by companies like Crosspoint," said Governor Mitch Daniels.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation provided Cummins Crosspoint with up to $950,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. In addition, the city of Indianapolis will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of Develop Indy.
"The expansion of Cummins Crosspoint's office here shows that Indianapolis is outperforming the competition when it comes to the attraction and retention of quality jobs," said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. "Cummins is a Hoosier-grown company leading the automotive manufacturing industry, and this investment demonstrates our mutual commitment to growing our already strong and diverse manufacturing sector."
