Dollar Tree Investing $18M in Savannah, Georgia
01/21/2011
"Dollar Tree has grown steadily for nearly 25 years," said Bob Sasser, president and CEO of Dollar Tree, Inc. "The expansion of our Savannah Distribution Center will support the continued growth of our business in the Southeastern United States and will provide additional long-term employment opportunities at the Savannah Facility. We are proud to be a part of this community."
The company will add up to 400,000 square feet to the currently 600,000-square-foot facility.
Dollar Tree is a major user of the Port of Savannah's Garden City Terminal, passing 8,000 containers through the terminal each year. The expansion will increase the company's container volume through the terminal to 15,000 containers annually by 2014.
