Mining Equipment Supplier Expanding in Virginia

Jennmar Corporation of East Virginia, Inc., a provider of support products for the mining and tunneling industry, will invest $2.65 million to expand its facility in Giles County, Virginia, according to the Virginia governor's office. The company will create 50 new jobs and retain 23 existing positions. The Virginia plant will manufacture steel-related roof control products. "The $2.65 million investment toward the existing facility in Giles County adds to Jennmar Corporation's specialty product line and adds to production efficiency," says Frank Calandra Jr., president and CEO of Jennmar. Incentives offered to the Pennsylvania-headquartered company include a $100,000 grant and training assistance from the state.
