Photon-X, Inc. Relocates Corporate Headquarters To Osceola County, Florida
10/17/2013
Formed in 1999, Photon-X conducts multi-industrial research and development and light manufacturing in the field of imaging technology. Used for modeling and simulation, entertainment and medical applications, the company designs and develops complex electro-optical systems, state-of-the-art sensors, photonics, and 3D image processing applications for military and commercial sectors.
Blair Barbour, Photon-X CEO and founder said, “A while ago, we initiated a strategy to commercialize our technology for deployment in multiple industries. As a part of that process, we launched a comprehensive search for the best strategic business location — and the answer came back, Central Florida. The people at Osceola County government and Metro Orlando EDC teamed up with us to identify the right location. They also helped to link us to the deep talent base in the region, and we are readily accessible to many more clients and prospects.”
“The work/life balance in the region is also very competitive and very healthy. The relocation is going smoothly and we look forward to long term success in our new Osceola County home,” he added.
Gov. Rick Scott said, “The relocation of Photon-X to Osceola County is great news for our state. Florida’s pro-business climate and unmatched quality of life make it the best place in the nation to live, work and raise a family. With more than 365,000 private-sector jobs created in the last two years and the lowest unemployment rate in five years, we know it’s working in Florida.”
Secretary of Commerce and president and CEO of Enterprise Florida, Gray Swoope said, “The relocation of the Photon-X headquarters to Osceola County shows that Florida has all of the resources needed to support high-tech industry leaders. With our state’s strong research and development network, and one of the top ranked workforces in the nation, companies like Photon-X can continue their successful innovation and product development.”
The project was made possible through strong partnerships between Enterprise Florida, Osceola County Economic Development Department, Workforce Florida, Inc. and Department of Economic Opportunity.
Executive Director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Jesse Panuccio said, “The relocation of Photon-X to Osceola County shows that our economy is continuing to move in a positive direction. Through the bold policies of this administration, we are seeing job growth in the technology industry and Florida is becoming a great place for these businesses to create more jobs.”
