Solar Tech Company Expanding in Colorado

Ascent Solar Technologies, a manufacturer of photovoltaic film modules used in solar energy, will move its world headquarters and manufacturing operations from Littleton to Thornton, Colorado. The new 120,000-square-foot existing facility will be retrofitted to produce several solar module production lines, the first of which is planned for completion by the end of 2009. The company expects to create more than 300 manufacturing jobs as part of the expansion. Matthew Foster, Ascent Solar's president and CEO, cited the commitment and cooperation of Colorado state officials to alternative energy as a key factor in the decision to remain in the state.
