10/25/2013
3D Systems Corporation, which makes 3D printers, parts and related software, will invest $10 million to expand its existing facility at 333 Three D Systems Circle in Rock Hill, South Carolina, generating 145 new jobs in York County. The project will be completed in phases over the next few years.

“We are excited about the opportunity to expand our production capacity and services to our customers. Rock Hill has been the perfect fit for our business and we look forward to continuing to grow here. We appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials,” said Avi Reichental, President and CEO of 3D Systems Corporation.

In addition to manufacturing printers and parts, the company offers customized solutions in modeling and prototyping for clients in a variety of sectors, including the medical field.

“When one of our existing businesses expands, it sends a message to other companies that South Carolina is a place where they can find success,” said Gov. Nikki Haley. “We celebrate 3D Systems’ decision to invest $10 million and create 145 new jobs in Rock Hill. This announcement is another indication that our economic development efforts are on the right track.” The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits.

“Today’s announcement from 3D Systems provides another boost to our state’s manufacturing renaissance, and adds to our reputation in the advanced manufacturing sector. Every one of these new jobs will have an impact in Rock Hill and beyond,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.

“3D Systems represents the very latest in technological achievement and we are excited about their continued commitment to our community,” York County Council Chairman Dr. Britt Blackwell said. “Since first arriving in York County in 2005, this company has revolutionized manufacturing through their disruptive techniques that allows ultimate product customization for their clients. We hope to experience many more benchmarks with 3D Systems as they continue to set the standard in 3D printing.”
